In Florida, injecting Botox is legally the practice of medicine, not a spa add-on. Only a physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner can do it, and a licensed prescriber has to examine you first. Every visit at Revive 365 starts there. Below is who is allowed to inject you, the dose for each area, what a session runs, and the off-label options most Broward clinics skip.

  • Treats – Frown lines, crow’s feet, forehead, neck bands
  • Onset – 2 to 3 days, full effect about 2 weeks
  • Lasts – About 3 to 4 months
  • Product – FDA-approved onabotulinumtoxinA

Who is legally allowed to inject Botox in Florida

In Florida, only four kinds of provider can legally inject Botox, and an esthetician is not one of them.

Florida treats botulinum toxin as a prescription drug, so administering it counts as the practice of medicine. That limits legal injectors to physicians (MD or DO), physician assistants under a written delegation agreement, and nurse practitioners working under a supervising physician’s protocol. Registered nurses can administer it only under a physician’s order and direct supervision, and the Florida Board of Nursing reads even that narrowly. Licensed practical nurses, medical assistants, estheticians, and anyone unlicensed cannot inject at all. Doing so is practicing medicine without a license, a third-degree felony under Florida law.

Before any injection, a provider with prescribing authority has to examine you, review your history, and confirm the treatment is appropriate. That visit is the good faith exam. It is a legal requirement, not a sales step.

The Six-Point Injector Verification Standard

Before you let anyone inject you, in Pembroke Pines or anywhere, run these six checks.

We built this from the CDC’s 2024 safety guidance and Florida’s licensing rules. It works at any clinic, including ours. Ask for all six. A practice that gets cagey about any of them is telling you something.

  1. License type. Ask which license your injector holds (MD, DO, PA, or APRN) and see it. “Experienced injector” is not a license.
  2. The prescriber’s exam. Confirm a prescriber examined you and signed off before treatment, not after.
  3. Product and lot. Ask to see the sealed vial and lot number. Genuine Botox Cosmetic comes from authorized distributors only.
  4. Setting. Injections belong in a licensed medical setting, not a kitchen, a hotel room, or a pop-up event.
  5. Written protocol. For a PA or nurse injector, a supervising physician’s written protocol has to be on file.
  6. The dose, in writing. Get your unit count per area recorded, so you can compare visit to visit and clinic to clinic.

The safety record, and the part clinics skip

Botox has a strong safety record in licensed hands, and a documented danger in unlicensed ones.

In 2024 the CDC and FDA investigated 22 people across 11 states, Florida among them, who had harmful reactions after botulinum toxin injections. Every case traced back to a counterfeit or mishandled product, an unlicensed or untrained injector, or a non-medical setting like a home or a spa party. Eleven were hospitalized. None died. The CDC’s warning on this is still active and was updated in February 2026, and the FDA has sent warning letters to websites selling unapproved botulinum toxin.

The takeaway is not that Botox is risky. It is that the product in the vial and the person holding the needle are what make it safe. That is the whole point of the six checks above.

What Botox actually costs in Pembroke Pines

Most Broward clinics price Botox per unit, and South Florida runs higher than the national average.

Across Florida, per-unit pricing generally falls in the $10 to $20 range, and the South Florida and Miami metro market tends to sit near the top of that band. Deep discounts exist, sometimes advertised as low as $7 a unit, but a rock-bottom unit price often means a less experienced injector, a heavier dilution, or unclear oversight. The number that matters is the total: units times price, plus whether the consult and good faith exam are included.

Scrotox and Growtox, explained honestly

Revive 365 offers two off-label neurotoxin treatments most Broward clinics do not: Scrotox and Growtox.

Both use the same FDA-approved botulinum toxin, applied off-label. Scrotox relaxes the muscle in the scrotal skin, which some patients ask about for appearance or comfort. Growtox refers to scalp injections some patients use for oil control and a smoother blow-dry, an area where the published evidence is still thin.

We will tell you plainly what each one can and cannot do, and we will not sell you a result the science does not back. If you are curious, the consult is the place to ask.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Botox hurt?

Most people describe it as a quick pinch. The needles are very fine, 30 to 33 gauge. A typical facial session takes about 10 to 15 minutes, and you can drive yourself home.

How soon will I see results, and how long do they last?

You will notice changes in about 2 to 3 days, with the full effect around 2 weeks. Results generally last about 3 to 4 months, then fade gradually as muscle movement returns.

How many units will I need?

It depends on the area and your muscle strength. Frown lines run about 20 units, crow’s feet about 24, and masseter 20 to 40 per side. Your provider sets the exact number at your exam.

Is masseter Botox covered by insurance?

Cosmetic jaw slimming is not. If you have a documented TMJ disorder or bruxism diagnosis, some plans may cover part of the cost, but coverage varies by carrier and is never guaranteed. We can give you documentation to submit. Can a nurse or esthetician inject me in Florida?

Can a nurse or esthetician inject me in Florida?

An esthetician cannot, ever. A registered nurse can inject only under a physician’s order and direct supervision. Most legal injectors in Florida are physicians, physician assistants, or nurse practitioners. Always confirm the license.
